$2 Million: Confidential v. Confidential

April 2020

San Diego County. Wrongful death of husband and father of two young children. Decedent was a contestant at an extreme sporting event where civilians were challenged with a modified version of Navy Seal bootcamp. Decedent displayed signs of a serious medical condition during the event that required immediate medical attention. Defendant failed to remove Decedent from the event and failed to provide the necessary medical attention that may have preserved his life. Defendant denied any liability and took the position that Decedent assumed the risk of death and waived liability via a Release and Waiver that he electronically signed prior to the event.
